Mishra, Chief Vigilance Officer in Airports Authority of India is a B-Tech. in
Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur, and has done Post Graduate Diploma in
Human Resource Management from All the India Management Association,
New Delhi, He is a MBA in International Business from UWS, Macarthur
(Australia) and Post Graduate Diploma in Democratization, Governance
and Public Policy from Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The
Netherlands, Mr. Mishra is an officer of Indian Administrative Service
(1984 batch: UP cadre). He joined as Chief Vigilance Officer in
Airport Authority of India on 1st November, 2006. Prior to this, he
was posted as Joint Secretary (Foreigners) in the Ministry of Home
Affairs, Govt. of India, where his responsibilities entailed matters related to
visa, immigration, Indian citizenship and foreign contribution
regulation. His earlier assignments, as District Magistrate, Agra,
Vice Chairman, Kanpur Development Authority, Special Secretary,
Tourism, Sports & Civil Aviation, Project Director (World Bank funded)
UP Health Systems Development Project-cum-Secretary, Medical & Health
in Government of Uttar Pradesh and Director (personnel), Ministry of
Home Affairs in Government of India have given him opportunities to
portray his administrative skills in governance.
As an
administrator, Mr. Mishra has steered various initiatives in good
governance during his career spanning over 24 years in Indian
Administrative Service. Based on his experiences, he has published
several articles/research papers in Indian journals. He has
participated in national/international seminars and conferences and
has delivered lectures in various Training Institutions and
Universities. He has worked as Research Assistant and Visiting
Professor in Fall Semester, 2004 in University of Guelph, Canada
wherein he taught two courses, one for under graduate and other for
graduate programme. His recent paper on ‘Good Governance: A Model for
India’ has been published by Taylor & Francis, New York in ‘Handbook
of Globalization, Governance, and Public Administration’ edited by
Farazmand, A. & Pinkowski, J.
His Best moment of working:
When I see
result of my contribution as to how it has made difference to the
lives of many people; especially in respect of instituting/ modifying
systems to ensure corruption-free efficient delivery of services to
stake-holders.
Favorite tourist destination:
Green and
pristine places in Himalayas.
Favorite food:
Dal-Bati
(traditional food of Eastern Uttar Pradesh).
His Wish for aviation sector:
To see
Aviation improve access of common person at affordable price between
all major/ important cities across the country.
