PERSONALITIES IN FOCUS

 

 

In our introductory month we feature two unique personalities who have contributed to the Indian Aviation Industry in a major way. They are Mr. Srikrishna, Executive Director (ATM) and Mr. Asha Ram, Executive Director (Aviation Safety )

Mr. Srikrishan, Executive Director (ATM)

Shri Srikrishan was born on 3rd Jan. 1947 and joined Govt. Service in 1967.  He is a science graduate with distinction in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.  He is a University topper and gold medallist.

He joined Civil Aviation Deptt. in 1973 and have all ATC ratings including RADAR.  He has worked as active ATC officer in various ATC units and also worked  as Watch Supervisory Officer.  Shri Srikrishan has more than 30 years of experience in Air Traffic Control.  He became Director of Aerodrome, IGI Airport and Northern Region in the year 1996.  The ATC system was modernized and transition from manual to fully automated system was done under his supervision and expert guidance,.  He was elevated  as Executive Director and posted as Regional Executive Director, North East Region at Guwahati.  Presently, he is the Chief of ATC and posted at AAI, CHQ.

Experience

30 Years in Aviation through various assignments as Air Traffic Controller, ATC Supervisor, Airport Director, Chief Instructor – ATC at CATC, Allahabad, Radar Instructor for MSSR, General Manager (ATM), IGI Airport, New Delhi.

 

Brief History 

With initial 3 years experience in R & D, Ministry of Defence, Mr. Ram possesses wide experience in various fields of aviation

  • Primarily as ATCO & Radar Instructor

  • Airport Management (as Airport Director)

  • ATS provider as General Manager (ATM).

A strong votary of Safety Culture, he has been promoted / posted as Executive Director (Aviation Safety) in AAI’s Corporate Hqrs. since July, 2004.He has undertaken the project work of establishing Safety Management System (SMS) in AAI. He worked as Member Secretary for the Roypaul Committee to suggest measures for improvement in ATM - India.
