1.0     BACKGROUND

 

Rajasthan State Flying School is a premier flying training institute which was earlier a full fledged Government Department. It had remained under total Government control till January, 1991. This institution is the only of its kind in the State which turns out Pilots.

 

 

Till the year 1991 it was a part of Government Dept. It was experienced that under the Government Control the financial function could not have be carried out efficiently and timely. Therefore it was decided at the Government level that this institution may be converted as a registered society but  under the full administrative control of the Government. .

 

2..0     AIM & OBJECTS

 

(a)       The main aim of the school is to make the people aviation minded and also to impart training for private pilot licence and commercial pilot licence. In addition to this school also conducts  the instrument rating test for issue / renewal of instrument rating and also carry out patter flying for issue of instructor rating.

 

(b)       The object for which the RSFS was established is to encourage, promote and develop the study of aeronautics in all its branches for the people of the State of Rajasthan and to arrange efficient and cheap air transport for the people of the state.

 

3.0      GOVRNMENT BODY/ EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

 

The Governing Body/ Executive Council consists of no less than the Chief Minister, Govt. of Rajasthan as the President and Home Minister, Govt. of Rajasthan as the Vice President. There are Six other senior Officers in the Govt. who are members of the Governing Council. Secretary, flying School in the member Secretary of the Executive Committee who manage the affairs of the Flying School.

 

As per the rules and regulations of the society and Memorandum of Association, funds of the flying school consists grants, Assignments, donations, contributions, advances and loans made by the Government of Rajasthan and Central Government.

4.0      SUCCESS STORY

 

The school by imparting fruitful training to the various trainees gives a chance to them to become successful Pilots and serve the nation. The school has turned out several pilots . Some of the trainees are even serving in International Airlines. 

 

5.0      FUTURE PLANS

 

  1. The school has got allotted a new Cessna 172 aircraft for training and charter flying. This aircraft meets with the standards of latest technology and day & night facilities.           

  2. Well equipped Class Room is planned to be set up in the new hanger with audio visual aids for imparting proper ground training to the students.  

  3. A proper library and a re-creation room will be set up in the new hanger with latest aviation books and magazines. The students will get good reading materials on aviation.  

  4. The school wants to appoint a  QCM, an API and a GII on regular basis. At present these posts are filled on contract basis. s 

  5. RSFS is keen to setup an Aerosports (village) Complex  in joint venture with Aero Club of  India. ACI has desired to set up this kind of complex in Rajasthan on N.H. 8 near Delhi. Broadly ACI wanted 200-300 Acres of land and the infrastructure facilities to  be developed by the ACI and the equipments also be provided by the ACI. This will be the first  Aerosport Complex in India and will help to boost adventure flying and sports and will attract lots of foreign tourists as well as domestic.

  6. A team of Experts from ACI and Secretary RSFS have selected the land at Vill. Jaroli, Tehsil Tijara in Alwar Distt. and Government of Rajasthan has allotted 135.84 hectares land free of cost on 29.01.2003 subject to clearance from Deptt. Of Environment. A detailed project report was prepared & submitted to Deptt. Of Environment on 08.07.2003 for necessary clearance. Now on 13.10.2003 Deptt. of  Environment asked to obtain diversion under Forest Conservation Act, 1980 as the land is categorized as “Gair Mumkin Bihad”  and permission of Central Government under  F.C. Act, 1980 is required. Now matter is under consideration between State Government  & Central Government. The ACI hopes to get Rs. 10 Crores in this financial year from planning commission for this project.
