GREETINGS FROM ....

Sh.Vinod K Yadava

Executive Director (ATM) AAI

I consider It to be my privilege to share my feelings with you on the Air Traffic Controllers Day which happens to be the day on which the history of Air Traffic Control profession was made long ago. In the modern concept, it is important for all of us to stand up to the expectations and perception of our predecessors with the utmost professional approach with the updated technology that is made available to us as tools to help us achieve the objectives of Air Traffic Services. This profession has seen changes and up gradation in Indian civil aviation keeping pace with the other developed world. We are up to date technologically in the ATC systems in India and are in the process of upgrading the ground infrastructure at most of the busy airports with initial focus on Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore which shall soon be extended to many other non-metro airports. We are also in process to replace our systems at Delhi Mumbai and other airports by replacing earlier radar and automated flight data processing systems. Soon most of the busy airports will be connected through AIDC and the radar systems will be integrated to provide all the users including passengers to track the flights of interest as is available in USA. Needless to mention that AAI is taking all the  measures to equip us with the latest systems available world wide and ATCOs would then be expected to perform with their best ability and capacity with these tools. It will be our endeavour to rise to the expectations of travelling public to facilitate them with almost on time performance with the cooperation of airlines concerned. I have always felt that being in this profession, we are concerned with the time of air travellers and have been instrumental in keeping our approach and the ATC system to the utmost proficient level. I not only hope but feel confident that all the ATCOs of India are with me in my thinking and would always rise to the occasion as and when required by the civil aviation in India.

Long live ATC profession and the Controllers. May God bless you all with good health and prosperity.
